Rehan Ahmed impresses while Trent Rockets dominates the original Manchester

Rehan Ahmed impressed with the ball and the bat to shoot rockets Trent to a victory with seven unilateral titles against Manchester Originals.

The local team dominated from the start at Trent Bridge with Captain David Willey by taking three for 11 – including the counters of Jos Buttler and Rachin Ravira – inside the first 30 balls.

Ahmed then withdrew Phil Salt and Heinrich Klaasen while the originals holded at 51 for six – the lowest score of a team after 60 balls in a hundred of this season – before finishing 98 for eight.

Joe Root (four) and Tom Banton (11) fell to Sonny Baker and ravaged in the space of four balls to leave the Rockets out of 21 for two and give the visitors.

However, Ahmed drew 45 points out of 35 deliveries, while Tom Moores also bypassed an unbeaten 22 while the Rockets have traveled their target with 26 remaining balls.

The Rockets are second in the table, at the points with Southern Brave, although behind on net races, while the seventh defeat of the original in eight at Old Trafford sees them fall to sixth.

Earlier, Beth Mooney and Kathryn Bryce directed the originals towards a categorical victory at 10 titles against the Rockets.

The English duo Sophie Ecclestone (two for 12) and Lauren File (three for 23) sent visitors on the way while the Rockets – with Nat Sciver -Brunt (34) the only house striker out of adolescents – were limited to 111 for seven.

In response, Captain Mooney (47 of 37 balls) won four limits and a six, while Bryce (61 of 45 deliveries), who also took two counters with the ball, struck eight four.

Their record opening partnership paved the way for originals to finish the third victory of 10 counters in History of the Hunged Women’s Competition with 18 spare balls.

The originals have now recorded four victories of their six games taking them to the positions of the dams in third, and increasing their hopes to progress from the group’s phase.

However, the Rockets remain in sixth grade after having amassed four defeats from their five matches.
