Markram, Maharaj led South Africa to the overwhelming victory in the opening of the ODI series

Aiden Markram struck 82 before the spinner of the left arm Keshav Maharaj crossed the order of striker of the new Australian look while South Africa called for the opening of the international series of a day of 98 points in Cairns.

Sent to Bat, Markram – Opening for the first time in the ODI since 2021 – has hung nine limits in its shot of 81 balls to be able to South Africa to a formidable 296-8.

Skipper Temba Bavuma (65) and Matthew Breetzke (57) also helped set the tone for the ODI series with three games.

In response, the Openers Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head flattened the Pacemen of South Africa while Australia ran to 60-0 after seven overs.

But the match returned after the introduction of Spin, with Maharaj Conjuant turning and he picked up four counters in his first 15 balls.

He finished with the best figures for 5-33 of 10 overs while Australia was rejected for 198 in the 41st.

It was a strong rebound back from South Africa after their 2-1 defeat in the Twenty20 series between the teams.

“I just tried to use the conditions and I was lucky to get the awards,” said Maharaj.

Marsh played a lonely hand with 88 out of 96 balls in a disappointing effort in the Australian stick, in transition after the recent pensions of the veterans Steve Smith and Glenn Maxwell of Odi Cricket.

“He is (Maharaj) an exceptional bowler and there was certainly a little more rotation than expected,” said Marsh, who is captain of Australia in this series in place of Pat Cummins.

South Africa had been shaken by the news that Kagiso Rabada rapid would miss the series with an ankle injury.

An improper Markram seemed to rush to its fourth century ODI before being caught behind the Ben Ben Dwarshuis left arm in the 24th row.

A slow bavuma was overwhelmed by Breetzke, playing his third Odi.

But South Africa has lost three counters for only seven points with the fall of Breetzke, Tristan Stubbs (Duck) and Dewald Brevis (six), before Bavuma started.

After a series of T20 in small groups, the beginner of the ODI, Brevis, struck a first ball – but then died at Head, which finished with 4-57.

Head’s excellent match continued with the bat until it was perplexed for 27, offering to the beginner offspinner, Frenelan Subrayen with his first ODI window.

By making his return since he was eliminated from the Australian test team, Marnus Labuschagne (one) fell on his sixth delivery after having examined an LBW decision by Maharaj without success.

Cameron Green (three) and Josh Inglis (five) were clean by a Maharaj Pompeé, who also had Alex Carey LBW for a golden duck.

Maharaj was unable to finish the hat -trick, but said its first five -counters in Cricket Odi when he spilled Aaron Hardie (four).

Friday, the second match will be played in the city in the north of Queensland in Mackay.

    1. Hi, thanks so much for the kind words—I really appreciate you reading the blog and taking the time to comment.

Yes, there are a few good options for automatically displaying your latest tweets on your blog. If you’re using WordPress, the official X (Twitter) Embed Timeline is a simple and reliable choice, and there are also plugins like Smash Balloon Twitter Feed that are easy to set up and highly customizable. For non-WordPress sites, Twitter’s native embed code works well too.

I hope one of these helps! Thanks again for your support, and stay tuned for more updates.

  6. Hey are using WordPress for your blog platform? I’m new to the blog world but I’m trying to get started and set up my own. Do you need any html coding knowledge to make your
own blog? Any help would be really appreciated!

    1. You don’t need to know any HTML to start a blog. Platforms like WordPress make everything really beginner‑friendly, and you can customize most things through simple menus and themes. I do use WordPress for my site, and it’s a great option if you’re just getting started. As you get more comfortable, learning a little HTML can help you tweak things, but it’s definitely not required. Good luck with your blog — you’ll pick it up faster than you think!
