An unusual competition took place at the Richmond Golf Club on Friday August 15 – the “Cross Country Golf Challenge”.
Rather than following the traditional road from the 1st tee to the 18th green, the players approached a course made up of a mixed sequence of holes.

Thus, for example, you turn off from the 14th tee and aim for the 9th green.
This “golf course with a difference” attracted more than 60 players playing nine holes during a beautiful summer evening, with incredible scores!
The winners were as follows:
Ladies – 1st – Karen Jobling and Vicky Matthers
2nd – Andrea Offord and Mel Albrighton
3rd – Sue Kipling and Barbara Gregory
Gents – 1st – Jake King and Tom Thurgood
2nd – Dan Morris and Tom Keegan
3rd – Connor Smith and Alex Ayers
Mixed – 1st – Claire Bateman and Lee Coward
2nd – Penny Holroyd and John Simpson
3rd – Mary Pettit & Brook Watson – The two club captains

Mary Pettit and Brook Watson (captains at the golf club) both said that it was an excellent evening for the club, congratulating the winners and thanking all those who participated.
They added a big thank you to Martin Dolan for organizing the course and triggered everyone.
